We’re excited to introduce a CoverLab.pro update! This version adds full support for a new category of roofing materials — fixed-length sheets such as Onduline, slate, polycarbonate panels, and other similar materials.
What’s New?
New Material Category: Onduline and Similar Materials
You can now work with materials that have a standard fixed sheet length in CoverLab.pro. This is especially relevant for:
- Onduline — a popular bituminous corrugated sheet with a length of 2000 mm
- Slate — both classic asbestos-cement and modern asbestos-free varieties
- Polycarbonate sheets — transparent or colored profiled panels
- Fixed-length profiled sheets — other bituminous corrugated or flat sheets
This category has its own layout characteristics that differ from metal tile roofing and corrugated sheeting which can be cut to size, and the system now correctly accounts for them.
Dedicated Calculation Algorithm
A separate fixed_sheet_vertical algorithm has been implemented for fixed-length sheet materials, which:
- Accounts for the inability to cut sheets to arbitrary lengths
- Calculates the optimal number of sheets along the slope height
- Correctly computes waste and overlaps
- Provides accurate layout visualization
This update expands CoverLab.pro’s capabilities for working with various types of roofing materials. You can now accurately calculate not only metal tile roofing and corrugated sheeting, but also fixed-length sheet materials: Onduline, slate, polycarbonate, and other similar products!
